**Position Overview
It is the mission of the Logistic Manager to manage inventory levels, to establish procedures, to oversee and ensure proper production control planning, including purchasing and/or contracting for materials required for operations of the Company.
Manages the Shipping and Receiving function for the Company and ensures that standard practices and procedures are followed.
**Responsibilities will include (but may not be limited to)**:
Fulfil projects cost assumptions and targets.
Plan and implement material flow management systems to meet production requirements.
Develop methods and procedures for scheduling of raw materials from suppliers to support manufacturing in achieving customer demand and minimizing cost impacts.
Responsible for overseeing the inventory management process, defining departmental strategies for appropriate inventory levels, eliminating obsolete and off-spec material, and reduce aging material.
Create plant policies or procedures for plant logistics activities according to corporate procedures.
Establish or monitor specific supply chain-based performance measurement systems.
Train shipping department personnel in roles or responsibilities regarding corporate logistics strategies.
Recommend optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment, or frequency.
Maintain metrics, reports, process documentation, customer service logs, or training or safety records.
Ensure Logistics Department complies with ISO/TS 16949 requirements.
Maintain receiving, warehousing and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating and enforcing program operational and personnel policies and procedures.
Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols Provide support for other departmental projects as needed.
Responding appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise.
Ensure plant readiness in line with customer's delivery demands (zero customer disruptions).
Managing and ensuring 1st class service levels are provided to all customers.
Ensuring all plant and customer requirements for the area are delivered satisfactorily and on time.
Ensure documentation and procedures are maintained and improved upon to enable smooth operations, sustain a knowledge base, self-reliance and an accruable history database.
Co-ordinating, prioritising, and organising JIT projects execution awarded to the Plant.
**To be a success in this role you must have**:
- Degree in Arts, related to Logistics, Finance or equivalent.
- QAD or SAP tools.
- Statistical tools
- 5 years work experience in Managerial and Manufacturing Environment (Logistics, Materials Chain Mgt, Finance. . . ).
- Ability to build and manage teams capable to reach the Plant targets.
- Excellent in English.
