Grow with us at US 1 Shorthaul! About US 1 Shorthaul's Logistics Transportation Manager (Site Manager) Position: JOB SUMMARY: US 1 Shorthaul's Transportation Manager will manage all shifts in the locations at our customer's distribution centers.

The role is to efficiently and effectively manage our site's operations to provide excellent customer service and achievement of wider business objectives.

The role will directly manage and be responsible for all operational staff on the site, including administrative staff and supervisors.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Comply with all DOT and FMCSA regulations. Manage the day-to-day planning of the yard operations in accordance with KPIs and customer expectations. Work with customer's transportation staff to ensure moves are executed safely and timely, including weekly discussions for volumes, yard schedules, and issues. Oversee daily operations while managing personnel and logistics. Supervise daily activities of the yard and office, including quality assurance, space management, logistics, and customer service. Ensure that the demands of the distribution center are met, maximizing efficiency and minimizing overtime. Continuously identify areas for improvement in yard operations. Provide leadership to the yard staff through developmental plans, coaching, and fostering engagement and culture. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing standards and complying with legal regulations. Complete or review reports such as auditing and approval of time sheets, billing reports, and equipment metrics. Conduct driver interviews, hiring, onboarding, and observations with site supervisors. Monitor DVIRs and ensure repairs and maintenance of equipment. Inspect equipment, tools, and machinery regularly and oversee general maintenance as needed. Address performance issues and employee relations situations affecting daily operations. Monitor all aspects of operations to ensure a safe and orderly facility in compliance with regulations. Develop and support all branch personnel through ongoing communication and training. Other duties as assigned by management. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: Proficient knowledge of yard management procedures and policies. Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and workforce management skills. Ability to effectively lead and build a team. Ability to work with all levels of company staff. Comfortable delivering frequent direct written and oral feedback. Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate proactively and professionally. Ability to perform with little supervision in a timely manner and with acceptable quality. Ability to handle changing situations under stress. Ability to organize materials, manage time, and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. Proficiency with computers/tablets and Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: This is a full-time, exempt (salary) position.
