Schedule: 36 hours weekly with Rotating Weekends

The role you'll contribute: The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for the coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients within a patient care unit under the supervision/direction of the Registered Nurse.
The Nurse assists with implementation and administration of the nursing process relative to the medical and nursing plan of care.
Uses the nursing skills of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in their patient care delivery.
Primary function is the delivery of competent, compassionate, and cost-effective nursing care.
This performance is in compliance with established policies, procedures and protocols under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, Director, Vice President of Clinical Services, and/or designee.
Demonstrates effective assessment skills to ensure quality patient care is provided under the direction of the Registered Nurse. Performs and documents accurate initial assessment per unit standards under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse. Observes and monitors patient lab work for trends and reports abnormal lab tests to appropriate physician. Utilizes clinical data to implement appropriate interventions. Performs and documents ongoing patient assessment which accurately reflects patients' physical and mental status ranging from child to geriatric according to unit standards and patient condition. Initiates use of restraints under the direction of the Registered Nurse as per hospital policy and procedure. Demonstrates critical-thinking skills when analyzing basic and advanced cardiac rhythms in a safe, competent and independent manner (Unit Specific). Consistently develops an appropriate plan of care for patient from admission to discharge under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. Demonstrates knowledge and ability in the preparation of patients for tests, procedures and surgeries ordered. Reviews and revises plan of care according to unit standards and as patient's condition warrants. Establishes appropriate implementation of nursing actions to ensure competent nursing care is delivered. Provides individualized goal directed nursing care to patients in the nursing unit, utilizing the nursing process and standards of nursing care. Documents on all hospital approved forms as per unit and hospital standards. Provides the necessary and appropriate education to the patient and family from admission through discharge. Demonstrates ability to administer medications as ordered. Responds and participates in unit and hospital code situations. Demonstrates ability to provide safe, competent nursing care for the patient requiring oxygen supplementation or support. Documents data, action, and response as per focus documentation standards. Accompanies patients as assigned for transport to other facilities, hospitals, or procedures as necessary. Evaluates and communicates patients' response to medical nursing plan of care to appropriate team members. Qualifications The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed: High School DiplomaUnit specific competency must be met per orientation pathways. Graduate of an accredited practical school of nursingInternship and/or preceptorship required dependent upon nursing experience. The salary range reflects the anticipated base pay range for this position.
Individual compensation is determined based on skills, experience and other relevant factors within this pay range.
