CalPortland is seeking a summer intern at the Oro Grande cement plant.

This internship is ideal for a student interested in mechanical engineering.

The intern will have the opportunity to work on a variety of maintenance projects.

Compensation$19. 50-$26. 00/hr DOE

ResponsibilitiesComplete Safety and MSHA training and any other site/job specific required trainingCarry-out and practice all Safety training and Company policies in the CalPortland workplaceProvide help, designing and budgeting for projects at multiple plant locationsAdditional work with reliability and project engineersAssist in routine housekeeping and maintenance of the facilitiesLearn about other CalPortland departments and interface as requiredPerform plant tasks as assignedEducationCurrently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering

Requirements/QualificationsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite, i. e. , Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPointPreferably an understanding of drafting/AutoCADGood attendance and punctualAbility to work a flexible scheduleAbility to work independently and in a team settingMust possess valid driver's license, insurance and be insurable to drive company vehiclesPreferred: Experience with equipment management softwarePrior experience or internship in construction or building materials industryConditions of EmploymentSuccessful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.

Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
