Mechanical maintenance technicians (i. e. mechanics) are responsible for the effective and efficient execution of mechanical maintenance work. The mechanic is expected to perform a quality repair that ensures the reliable operation of the effected equipment. Mechanical maintenance technicians are also expected to perform their tasks in a manner that ensures their safety as well as the safety of others and to recognize and mitigate any circumstance that could cause undue risk to the environment. Successful mechanics act responsibly and function effectively as an individual contributor in a team work environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Adherence to all applicable safety policies and procedures

- Execution of mechanical maintenance including corrective, preventive and predictive activities

- Identification, procurement and utilization of proper repair materials and spare parts

- Perform root cause failure analysis to confirm the failure mechanism and prevent a recurrence

- Support Maintenance Supervisors and Production Supervisors in planning and execution of their work

- Collaboration with reliability SME's to design and implement solutions to extend equipment life

- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions individually or in partnership with processors

- Develop new skills and capabilities that enhance their ability to contribute

- Actively engage in continuous improvement activities that result in improved performance

- Commit to and actively participate in equitable technician resource leveling, overtime allocation and vacation practices.

- Communicate and maintain procedures, policies, plant direction/results and programs.

- Ensure that training materials, procedures and records are maintained

- Provide clear communication with management and operations team for all jobs

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

- Minimum of 2 years' mechanical maintenance experience in the process industry
