ROLE PROFILE

Title: Management Accountant

Reporting to: Senior Finance Manager (UK based)

Terms: Permanent

Location: Milan, Italy

WiseEnergy is a trusted and established solar asset manager, offering all the services clients require to manage and optimise large-scale solar plants, from development and construction through to long-term operational asset management.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, passionate finance professional to support in the delivery of finance asset management services to one of our most important clients. .

We are looking for someone who genuinely cares about the people they work with, naturally seeks to collaborate and enjoys the buzz of good camaraderie.

Although, as with all finance roles, you'll need to have exceptional attention to detail, this role is not suitable for someone wanting to lock themselves away - you'll need the right balance of introversion and extroversion to be comfortable in this role.

In other words, you will be a valued business partner who can build and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

**Role & responsibilities

There is an expectation of consistency and accuracy of outputs, as well as delivering and maintaining a high degree of customer service (internal and external).

In view of this, you will be expected to appropriately flag issues and support their resolution through to the end and proactively drive continuous improvement.

The role holder is expected to be able to undertake the responsibilities outlined below with minimum supervision:

**Onboarding and set up

- Ownership of the onboarding checklist and cross-checking information available in the virtual data room

- Providing a high-level view of documentation available for onboarding

- Providing updates on onboarding information to ensure Day 1 books can be

- managed and compliance can be achieved (statutory and lenders) or raising as

- appropriate where information is missing.

- Support with HoldCo set up, including incorporation and bank account set up

- Responsible for general ledger accounting systems set up

- Supporting with sourcing of outsourced Providers (e. g.

Company secretarial, tax advisors etc)

**Ongoing responsibility

- Payments and cash management of development costs and construction management

- Tracking development and construction budgets by asset

- Accounting for the transfer of assets across HoldCos and accounting treatment

- Accounting for assets on Balance Sheet

- Support in accounting for the management of the sale of assets

- Assisting in incorporating SPVs

- Assisting with managing transition of assets from development to construction

- Assistance with oversight of outsourced service providers for non-local reporting

- Accounting for local VAT during development and construction

- Monthly and quarterly management information (MI) reporting - actual versus budget with commentary

- Liaison with tax professionals who prepare tax computations and returns

- VAT/GST registration and inspection

**Knowledge, skills & experience

This is a mid-level role requiring depth in terms of core finance, tax and accounting knowledge, and experience.

- Accounting / Finance university degree or post-graduate qualification

- Strong budgeting, forecasting and reporting skills (essential)

- 4+ years' finance experience (essential)

- Understanding of financial due diligence requirements and review as part of the assets sales process

- Experience of formulating accounting policy

- Experience of multiple GAAPs (UK GAAP, IFRS, local European GAAP, US GAAP) (desirable)

- Experience of onboarding of new assets

- A passion for process improvement and operational efficiency (essential)

- Renewable energy experience (highly desirable)

- Superb presentation and conflict resolution skills, robust, resilient and articulate (essential)

- Fluent, advanced business level Italian and English (essential), other languages an advantage
