Manager, Business Development
Role Summary**:
We are now looking for a new Business Development Manager to join one of our locations in the region (the role can be based in any location in the region, with extensive working from home possibilities).
This individual will be responsible for the identification and development of automation flow control opportunities within the water and wastewater markets in their region of responsibility.
In addition, this person will provide direct technical sales and project management support to end users and engineering companies as directed in support of Flowserve's valve automation portfolio.
This position reporting to the Global Sales Director, Automation and will require regular communication and coordination with sales, commercial and plant operations to quote, secure and execute major projects.
**Preferred Experience / Skills**:
- Engineering, Business Degree or equivalent.
- 8+ years of experience in valve automation.
- Knows and understands the business from both a technical and commercial standpoint.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate, present, and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level.
- Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of the company's products and services and position them strategically against competitors.
- Highly organized
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Excellent listening and presentation skills.
- Working knowledge of commonly used customer sales concepts, practices, and procedures.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position does not currently have any supervisory responsibilities.

**Responsibilities & Requirements**:
- Develop and ensure Flowserve automation products are specified with major end users and engineering companies.
- Provide direct engineering support to end users, engineering and original equipment companies in developing and clarifying automation technical requirements for Flowserve automation products.
- Coordinate project activity with all automation sales engineers and sales managers globally to ensure alignment, compliance, and clarifications to all applicable specifications.
- Coordinate directly with leadership, commercial operations, engineering, and operations to develop and execute a quotation strategy to secure opportunities.
- Coordinate with the sales management team to identify and develop channel partner strategy with strategic KPI's specific to the water industry
- Work closely with sales leadership to prioritize opportunities that ensure that largest measure of quotation success.
- Work with sales leadership and product management to develop long term product strategies and product forecast.
Will have a key role in supporting Product Management to champion new product launches specific to the associated industry.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of current and future opportunities, provide project forecast and updates as required utilizing FlowForce
- Travel anticipated is 50%.
