We are looking for a **Data Engineering Manager **to lead one of our Data Engineering teams.

This team solves real-world data engineering challenges for stakeholders across the organisation, including Product Engineering, Analytics, UX, Sales and Customer Care.

You will provide **leadership **and **guidance **to all members in your team, focus on the team's productivity and strive to increase the impact of your team's work every day.

**What you'll do

- **Empower** your **team** and create a **safe** and **inclusive** **environment**, help people grow

- **Identify** and **tackle** existing **problems, **have difficult **conversations** and **decisions** to move your team and the company forward

- Give your team **direction** and **guidance** according to the company strategy and priorities

- Work closely with Product Managers, Lead Engineers, Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Data Analysts and your peers across the Tech function to **build solutions that make a difference for the business**:

- Define an **executable data engineering roadmap** your team can deliver on, that supports the product roadmaps of our Builders' organisation

- Provide **methodical and technical** **guidance** to the team and establish best practices that lead to reliable data-based products and a productive team

- Team-up with your recruitment colleagues to **attract** the **best** **talent** that fit to your team and our company

- Manage the delivery of the team and be **accountable** for the **team's outcomes

**What you should bring

- Experience working as an **engineering** **manager, data engineering manager** or on a similar **leadership position

- A passion for **building**, **leading** and **nurturing** successful data engineering teams

- A clear and **fluid** **communication** style

- Excitement about working with modern, decentralised data engineering approaches modelled around the concept of a Data Mesh

- Experience running large scale data infrastructures.

We use **AWS S3, Kinesis, Glue **and** EMR **as well as** Kafka, Presto, Spark** and **MicroStrategy **among other things.

- Experience with governed Big Data ETL pipelines for data curation, feature engineering, analytics and machine learning

- Hands on experience with data architectures and streaming data ingestion
