For this exciting and huge PMI transformation, there is a concrete business need to adapt our existing manufacturing footprint to cope with the smoke-free vision!

PMI will need to build new factories and refurbish the existing ones.

The smoke-free products, we are commercializing and developing, require different infrastructure and working conditions comparing with the traditional business.

You will be working in the PMI Central Engineering team (Engineering Solutions) who has the mandate to make this transformation happen!

Therefore, we are looking for a Manager Logistics Design who will join our team and will be based either in Bologna (IT) or Krakow (PL), where we already have our Engineering hubs and workforce.

The main purpose of this position is:

To lead all design works related to overall Logistics integration, technologies and equipment when building or refurbishing PMI facilities in order to ensure that they are optimally operational and will cope with current and future business needs.

You will ensure that the best Logistics design and solutions are applied into future projects aligned with continuous Sustainability performance (green technologies), improved execution costs and lead time.

In collaboration with Manufacturing Systems & Concepts and local affiliate, you will coordinate all analysis and studies needed for developing the best technical solution(s) for optimal facility Logistics flows with "lights off" approach.

More specifically, you will:

- Lead all design works related to overall Logistics integration, technologies, and equipment to ensure that they are optimally operational and will cope with current and future business needs.

Coordinate the necessary analysis and studies for an optimal manufacturing center operation always with a forward-looking approach while finding the most cost effective solutions.

- Prepare necessary feasibility studies (Logistics wise) according to Industrial Strategy and Global Manufacturing needs for greenfield and brownfield projects or any other type of Logistics projects in the PMI affiliates.

Recommend the best and most efficient Logistics solutions for an optimal factory functioning with a "ligths off" approach.

- Work hand in hand with the Environmental Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and Facilities Design colleagues to integrate all most recent technologies into the new facilities design.

- Develop and own affiliates sites master planning (buildings wise) and keep them updated for future business needs and adjustments envisaging necessary agility and execution excellence.

- For greenfield and brownfield projects, support the conceptual and preliminary design phases in collaboration with local affiliate and internal ES team(s) to recommend the best and most efficient Logistics solutions for a proper facility sizing and design.

Partner and collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering team for materials and people flow optimizations by using analytical simulation tool(s).

- Define, maintain and continuously improve Logistics standards and solutions for PMI facilities.

Keep abreast of latest market technologies and solutions for a continuous improvement of implementation costs, agility and Sustainability performance.

- Scout and maintain a pool of internationally recognized Logistics solutions suppliers and professionals to conduct the necessary exploratory work and have the necessary access to latest technologies (Vendors Management).

We're looking for someone with:

- Strong experience in Logistics / Supply Chain disciplines, preferably in the fields of scouting / developing new technologies and Logistics flows and sizing.

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Logistics Technology / Supply Chain technical areas.

Master's degree on those disciplines is highly desirable.

- Superior project management skills and knowledge, ideally proven through official certifications and hands-on experience.
