For our Engineering Solutions - Digital Engineering department in Bologna, Italy, we are therefore looking for a Manager Machine Sensorization and Automated Inline Controls, a passionate individual with an appetite for change, innovation and problem solving.

A leader with a vision and contagious motivation to challenge the status-quo and help PMI reach the next level of manufacturing excellence.

In this position you will manage a team of digital engineers in a specific domain of expertise and accountability and lead PMI through the 4th industrial revolution!

You will ensure smooth business transition and governance from old to new, based on your team's achievement and innovation.

This by working with a diverse network of teams, ranging from manufacturing, engineering, IT and Quality assurance.

You will:

- Develop standards for various sensing systems, modalities, and techniques in the scope of process control, quality control and computer vision.

- Build and implement a portfolio of customer-focused solutions sought at delivering value through reactive/predictive/prescriptive controls for manufacturing equipment based on inline sensing.

- Engineer and deliver industrial grade, scalable, and robust solutions

- Investigate, assess and pilot the use of novel technologies allying the worlds of sensing and smart manufacturing

- Ensure PMI's excellence in manufacturing standards and best engineering practices

- Interact with, lead, and expand a portfolio of specialists, partners, and suppliers for high quality delivery of sensing projects

- Support the company's and Operations' team in its digital transformation and vision for the manufacturing of the future, with a focus on Industry 4. 0. and Edge computing

We're looking for someone with:

- College/University degree in Engineering, Automation and Robotics / Computer Science or equivalent field

- Broad experience in leading Industry 4. 0 use cases

- Extensive experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Process control, Automation, Robotics with machine to machine, machine to system communication and Industrial Internet of Things solution (IIOT) as well as

- Strong experience in Vendor management

- Accomplished in program and projects management (both waterfall and agile)

- Eminent in leadership and as people activator (interpersonal communication, mentoring, feedback, delegation)

- A track record of resourcefulness, business savviness and delivery in the Digital transformation space (forward thinking)

- Ability to handle change and to prioritize in a highly dynamic environment

- Ability to build strong and trustful relationships with key partners

- Proficient in English
