Manager, Sales Department

We are currently looking for a Manager, Sales Department, who will be responsible of planning, direct and coordinate sales of the Technology Unit's products on the TU's assigned markets, in line with Valmet strategic plans and must wins; accomplishing the unit's targeted budget regarding order bookings as well as Gross Profit and Operating Profit, taking care of customer relationship management and develop department accordingly.
Your main target responsibilities are:
- To prepare and accomplish the Technology Unit's sales budget and the required sales margins.
This responsibility also covers the regular market analysis and the update of Management and own department about quotations made, budget status, market trends, competition, and risks
- To lead the department and promote constructive cooperation with other departments.
Arrange weekly meeting with all Technology Units' salespersons to properly classify and prioritize sales projects, define specific activities, and ensure availability of sufficient and competent resources.
To develop synergies with Valmet Areas and with Service Operations in EMEA and SEMEA to create leads identified during paper mill visits
- To prepare quotations and review contracts
- To develop customer contacts, promoting CRM culture inside own department
- To ensure that all financial, technical, technological and safety risks are properly evaluated in sales before the signing of the contract
- To take care of personnel development (team management) and competence growth together with HR Manager
- To ensure own department's respect of Technology Unit's quality procedures to promote process efficiency and contribute to quality cost containment.
As well as the respect of safety rules and Valmet minimum safety standards
We expect that you meet the following minimum requirements:
- Technical high school diploma (electrical engineering, paper engineering or mechatronics), competence in fluid dynamics is an advantage
- Minimum 5 years' experience, with managerial or supervisory responsibility.
Experience and understanding of tissue paper market and economics are considered as a plus
- Experience and knowledge of Valmet competitors in tissue paper area air systems are considered a plus
- Ability and determination to learn quickly and to quickly put your knowledge into practice
- Leadership and ability to motivate others, excellent teamwork
- Willingness to travel within the whole market area
- Good interaction and social skills (ability to network, communicate openly, respect roles).
Experience in working in a Matrix organization are considering a plus
- A solid "safety first approach"
- Good command of English and Italian, written and spoken
- Command of Microsoft Office
- Driving license (B type)
