!We are currently working with a major technology company to collect map data across a number of countries.

This involves operating vehicles equipped with a sensor mounted on the roof to scan and collect data of the road network and the route you are following.

After collecting data each day, you will transfer it to an online platform.

This data will help develop the next generation of digital maps to power mobile applications.

Operators will be responsible for equipment preparation, data collection, simple data processing, and overall equipment management in the field. As part of this project, we are seeking people to operate and navigate vehicles around the areas to be mapped in Rome, Italy.

We are looking for Vehicle Mapping Operators who are enthusiastic, friendly, and safe.

You will be working as part of a larger team, so being personable is required.

You should be comfortable working for long periods (approximately 8-10 hours per day) and have experience in operating/navigating in various situations: cities, freeways, suburban, and rural.

A working knowledge of GPS and navigation applications is essential. Only applicants that have been selected for an interview will be contacted.

There are no internship positions available.

Relocation is not offered. Mapping Operator Responsibilities:Operator must live in the mapping area. Operate mapping vehicles with care and attention, abiding by all traffic and highway rules. Use navigation software and other applications as instructed to follow routes. Work effectively as part of a larger mapping team. Follow the rules and work missions as requested by the Project Manager. Evening and weekend collection may be necessary at times. Complete daily checks on the vehicle and equipment and notify the manager of any issues. Operate carefully with regard to the equipment on the vehicle, being mindful of low-hanging objects. Protect the equipment and vehicle by always parking securely. Follow security protocols and instructions from managers. Maintain confidentiality of the project and the data collected. Maintain required logs as set forth by the Project Manager. Operate and monitor the sensor equipment on a daily basis in the mapping vehicle. Troubleshoot equipment issues. Be a citizen, Legal Residence Card holder, or have a Working Visa (no Student Visas accepted) authorized to work in the posted country. A valid operator's license to operate in any valid state. Ability to manage time effectively. Ability to work well in a team. Ability to listen to managers and complete tasks efficiently. Basic technical familiarity with maps, phones, and tablet computers. Good understanding of the posted country's road network. Good communicator and able to complete reports for managers. Strength to lift up to 50lbs, plus bending and twisting. Honest, open, and transparent communication. Be a legal citizen, Legal Residence Card holder, or a Working Visa with no restrictions (no Student Visas accepted). Requirements:Have some level of expertise and aptitude in motor vehicle mechanics. Have at least four (4) years of driving experience, as well as experience driving for long periods of time. Prefer to be 25 years of age, but will consider appropriate experience. Have the capability to understand physical security protocols. Have the ability to follow instructions and know when to escalate issues rather than attempting to resolve them independently. Have experience with iOS devices and should be technically savvy. Be able to work long hours in stressful environments. Have a valid driver's license and be permitted to drive in the posted country. Clear driving record. Ability to pass a 5 or 7 Panel Drug Screen. Must consent to random drug screening throughout the entire project. Pass a Background check. MUST be able to speak fluent English. Desired Skills:General car knowledge. Ability to climb on a small step ladder to access the roof-mounted camera. Knowledge of smartphones and their use. Understand basic computer skills and write legible emails. Reliable, dependable, and creative. Timeline:Tentative training start of March 17th, project start of March 24th, 2025.

Temporary employment running to approximately end of May to early June, 2025.

Understand the timeline could fluctuate based on collection area and client needs. Job Type:Temporary, Contractor position. Pay & Compensation:€10 per hour + x1. 5 for overtime (paid monthly).
