Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowship (Msca-Pf)
UNIVERSITA' DEGLI STUDI DI URBINO CARLO BO Organisation / Company: UNIVERSITA' DEGLI STUDI DI URBINO CARLO BO Department: Department of Biomolecular Sciences (DISB) Laboratory: Computer-Assisted Molecular Design (CAMD) Are you eager to take the next step in your career and contribute to groundbreaking advancements in computational polypharmacology? The Computer-Assisted Molecular Design (CAMD) Lab at the University of Urbino "Carlo Bo" is seeking talented scientists to collaborate on innovative research at the intersection of computational chemistry , biophysics , and drug discovery. The CAMD lab is involved in several drug discovery campaigns focused on identifying multi-target ligands. These efforts target widely researched protein families, such as kinases and GPCRs, alongside disease-specific proteins. Our in silico techniques include classical molecular docking, precision-tuned library generation, and AI-driven data analysis. Recent successes include the development of dual target compounds active in nicotine addiction and bipolar disorder. Building on our strong foundation in advanced simulation techniques and machine learning , we seek to integrate novel biophysical approaches - an area we aim to strengthen through this call - to further advance our strategies for the rational design of multitarget compounds. You will work under the supervision of Prof. Giovanni Bottegoni , an Associate Professor of Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Urbino and Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham with experience in both academia and industry. Based in the UNESCO-listed city of Urbino , the University of Urbino "Carlo Bo", founded in 1506, is renowned for academic excellence and global impact. The CAMD lab operates from the recently renovated Campus "Enrico Mattei, " a state-of-the-art research hub three kilometers from the city center. We invite interested researchers to apply for a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowship (MSCA-PF) with the University of Urbino as the host institution. Research will focus on applying a combination of computational and biophysical methods to the development of multitarget-directed ligands, integrating state-of-the-art molecular modeling techniques with advanced simulation approaches to drive innovation in drug discovery. This is a unique opportunity to develop together a competitive proposal and conduct high-impact research in a dynamic, internationally connected environment. This is a worthwhile opportunity to: Conduct high-impact drug discovery research. Gain hands-on experience in both biophysical and computational methods. Benefit from well-equipped facilities in Campus "Enrico Mattei, " recently restored through a multimillion-euro investment. Benefit from complete support to develop a robust MSCA-PF application. Be part of an internationally leading group with close industry and academia relationships. Minimum Requirements: Candidates must hold a PhD or complete it by the MSCA-PF call deadline (10th September 2025). They must have no more than eight years of full-time research experience after obtaining their PhD. They must not have resided or carried out their main activity in Italy for more than 12 months in the 36 months prior to the EU call deadline. They must be willing to relocate to Urbino, Italy. Open to applicants of any nationality. Ideal Candidate Profile: We seek applicants with a documented background in one or more biophysical techniques , such as surface plasmon resonance (SPR), microscale thermophoresis (MST), biolayer interferometry (BLI), circular dichroism (CD) or NMR screening. Candidates should also be eager to expand their expertise by gaining first-hand experience in computational drug discovery. Interested candidates should email camduniurb. it with the subject line "MSCA 2025 Expression of Interest – [Name]" and include: CV 1 or 2 support letters (optional) We are committed to fostering an inclusive, diverse, and equitable research environment. We welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds , regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other characteristic. We believe that diverse perspectives drive innovation and encourage candidates from underrepresented groups to apply. J-18808-Ljbffr
