Our team at Avnet Abacus is currently recruiting for the role of Market Segment Sales Manager - Aerospace & Defense.
This newly created role is field-based requiring a base knowledge of electronics and board level components.
You will be working closely with the Regional Sales Manager, Application Engineers, Suppliers and Technical Experts to drive sales growth and ensure customer satisfaction within the Aerospace & Defense market segment.
The customer base will be across South Europe; therefore, we are flexible on location.
You will develop and maintain a sales plan and pipeline for the Aerospace & Defense segment, and you will identify opportunities for business expansion in support of the customer sales strategy.
Additionally, you will develop and maintain the business relationship by providing solutions for defined account(s) in a product line, to achieve the identified strategy and business financial objectives.
What you will be doing:
- Cooperate closely with Market Segment Manager to get aligned on the go to market strategy-
- Identifies and creates opportunity demand for products, coordinating the supporting seminars, training and resource awareness to assigned customers, and that drives growth plan success in the targeted accounts. - Maintains and drives trending knowledge of products, competitors, technology and customers in the assigned supplier product market.
Identifies and maintains field supplier relationships. - Work closely with technical experts (Product Mgr. , FAEs, suppliers, etc. )
to identify project opportunities and to generate into design wins in cooperation with suppliers. - Provide local market input to Purchasing/Procurement to influence pricing, product availability and strategies. - Maintain, track and update respective Company opportunity management systems / databases if available. - Advise local management of market conditions and competitive activities that might affect sales or offer sales opportunities. - Attend Company and Supplier sponsored meetings and trainings to obtain updates on product information, customer opportunities, policy and procedure updates and technological trends. - Prepare customer budgets / forecasts for upcoming fiscal year in cooperation with RSM / Country Director. - Support promotional sales activities.
What we are looking for:
- Experience in sales of technical products required, preferably within the electronics and embedded industry- A commercial mind-set, focused on delivering value to customers- Ability to establish who the key decision makers are within target customers, uncover their business objectives and identify where solutions can be positioned- Ability to communicate the company's value proposition to senior management, commercial and technical contacts at customers- Knowledge of selling, ideally at all levels of seniority from day to day contacts to senior level decision makers- Ability to present and communicate in a very professional manner- Very good negotiation and influencing skills- Solid product knowledge- Ability to work in a team environment- Ability to work in a customer-driven and results oriented environment- MS Office skills- Goal-oriented, self-driven and -motivated, flexible- Fluent in English, Italian or French knowledge will be a plus
