All about the role:Your role will be important to support the material management process for the group enhancing efficiency and productivity, making sure that materials are checked according to standard and non-standard tests and are in line with the requirements. You will be responsible for conducting tests and analysis on various materials to determine their properties, composition, and suitability for specific applications, working closely with more senior colleagues to support research and development projects, ensuring the quality and performance of materials to be used in production. In your role you will work in a multidisciplinary team and you might have the opportunity to interface with external institutes and suppliers, as well as with different company departments (e. g.
R&D, Procurement). What you'll do:As an integral member of the Product Technology Organization (PTO), you will provide technical expertise in material sciences, processes and technologies in an international, multi-competence and cross-product line environment. In detail, you will:Prepare samples/specimens (e. g.
sectioning, inlaying, grinding and polishing, etc. )
and conduct tests (e. g.
mechanical, metallography, chemical analysis, corrosion, etc. )
to evaluate material characteristics and performances. Execute testing activities according to specifications and guidelines. Critically analyse data. Support or prepare results presentation and technical reports, providing detailed reports to relevant stakeholders. Contribute to the development of methodologies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy. Support continuous improvement routines & initiatives. Support technology exploration and scouting of new solutions & innovations via lab verification. Collaborate with all involved functions and build networks. Provide regular progress updates to competence area lead and operational/functional manager. Collaborate with the team to analyze and interpret test data. Manage laboratory inventory, ensuring necessary materials and supplies are available. Keep the laboratory clean, organized, and free from hazards. Who you are:Bachelor degree (in Chemistry, Material Science or similar) with 2-3 years of working experience or Technical College (Technikum) and min 2-3 years of experience in chemical/materials laboratories. English proficiency. Familiar with office IT tools. Technical knowledge on chemistry, material science, chemical laboratory equipment and experimental procedures. Knowledge on both metals and plastics and testing methodologies preferred. Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and software for data analysis. Data analysis and reporting skills. Problem solving (beginner level): addressing quality issues, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions. Ability to document, report findings and clearly communicate results. Teamwork skills. Where you'll be:You will be based in Porcia, located in the metropolitan area of Pordenone (Northeast Italy), where the main Electrolux R&D centre is located.
