Materials Manager Mobility Group Emea
What you'll do**:
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide leadership for the implementation of Vehicle Group's Materials Strategy and implementation of standard material processes.
Responsibilities include development, coordination and deployment of the activities of integrated materials management including demand forecasting, capacity planning, customer scheduling, material / product delivery, supplier replenishment and integrated logistics processes.
This includes responsibility for all material management processes including; ISIOP (Integrated Sales Inventory Operations Planning), Customer Scheduling, Material and Demand Planning, Inventory Management (including shop floor management) and Standard Packaging.
This position will work closely with the Operations and Supply Chain to assist in establishing and maintaining a high velocity, reliable material delivery process at the lowest total cost of ownership.
The Manager of Materials will act as the Operations champion to continuously improve common inventory planning and management practices to achieve optimized total cost of delivery for both raw and finished goods in support of the group's global sourcing and manufacturing strategies.
This role will also be responsible to develop, implement and maintain a world-class materials organization incorporating commodity strategies, demand planning, inventory managementand distributions of materials.
This role will provide strategy and direction for all materials and support functions to optimize material flow to meet and exceed customer requirements in the areas of safety, quality, delivery, productivity and cost.
This involves the responsibility of deploying standard processes and solutions across materials scheduling, inventory control, and logistics management.
The Regional Materials manager will also be responsible to deploy and upgrade sites to a standard ERP system utilizing standard tools and processes.
Successful implementation of world-class materials systems and processes are an integral part of the execution of the Manufacturing strategy and processes.
The Materials Manager will work closely with other regional materials managers to support continuous learning and help identify skills, knowledge or functional expertise vital to the success of the materials strategy
- Provide functional direction to plant material managers in the areas of sales, forecasting, capacity planning, production planning, inventory management, supplier replenishment and customer scheduling.
Define and standardize inventory control best practices and the implementation of effective measurements and improvement activities.
- Monitor materials and inventory systems performance, assign responsibilities and take actions to assure continuous improvement.
Drive inventory management programs for the supply chain (Internal/External) to meet corporate expectations
- Drive the material initiatives to support the strategic plan.
Develop and implement world-class systems providing single point of entry for order management and material planning
- Select, coach, develop, and lead talent through functional competency growth.
- Integrate Eaton Corporation best practices into the material management structure via the Global and Regional Materials Council
- Comply with the policies, procedures, and expectations outlined by Eaton's Management System for the Environment, Safety, Security, and Health (MESH) and Quality Management Systems.
- Aligning internal materials management procedures and processes with the market and customers.
**Qualifications**:
- BS degree in operations management, engineering, or supply chain; MBA preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a materials environment.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a leadership role
- Experience in large multi-national manufacturing organizations with complex matrix structures.
**Skills**:
- Fluency English.
Any other European languages would be a plus.
- Preferred qualification: Oracle ERP, ASCP and Value Chaining Planning; APICS qualification.
- Strong knowledge of advanced manufacturing tools such as MRP, material scheduling, Kanban, min/max
- Understanding of manufacturing processes such as assembly and machining
- Extensive knowledge of SIOP (Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning) process which includes forecasting, scheduling, capacity, analysis, and inventory management.
