**Position Summary - Key responsabilities and principle tasks

- starting from Project technical/functional requirements perform the process of designing ofspacecraft structural parts choosing suitable materials standard and/or innovative manufacturing technologies like the Additive Manufacturing;

- to define, if necessary, a conceptual design using CAD SW (CATIA V5 under ENOVIA VPM).

- preparation of FEM mesh of parts and assemblies respecting the golden rules of FEM modelling to adequately represent the structure under static, thermo-elastic and also dynamic analysis (many types);

- performing of the FEM checks and model updating up to check requirements compliance;

- perform the part optimization either with traditional and/or topological tecniques;

- running of Static, Dynamic (modal, sine, random) and Thermo-elastic verification analyses;

- execute the stress analyses and validate the final part sizing also for the fracture/fatigue aspects;

- to synthetize the performed activities generating in autonomy the relevant outputs and prepare the review documentation (Design Reports, Analysis Reports, Technical Notes);

- to define verification/test plans for the validation of design

- to prepare the test campaign (qualification/acceptance of structures) including prediction analyses and definition of test instrumentation;

- manage the relationship with the test AIT personnel;

**CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION: KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

**Education & Qualifications

- Master Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.

**Experience and skills

The resource has a minimum of one year experience as FEM modelling and analyses.

Experience in the design of metallic components and sandwich structures even with non-metallic (CFRP) skins, inserts design is widely appreciated.

Experience in designing and realizing structural parts using the additive manufacturing processes is needed.

The resource has the following software skills:

- experienced (good) knowledge of pre-post-processing and solvers softwares, in particular one of the following, as minimum:

- Femap (recommended);

- Hyperworks (including Optistruct);

- Esa-Crack

- experienced (good) knowledge of Microsoft Office

- Basic knowledge of Catia V5 CAD is appreciated

Moreover the resource has knowledge of English, both written and spoken.
