Webasto Thermo & Comfort Italy Srl, a multinational company specialized in the design, production and distribution of air conditioning and refrigeration systems for vehicles, is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to be included in R&D.

Responsibilities:Mechanical Design Engineering and Mechanical System Integration Engineering of HVAC and Refrigeration productsDefinition/design of mechanical components of the product, as well as verification, approval and release of drawingsCalculation of sizing / verification (FEM analysis)Responsible for the creation, updating and maintaining of the drawings archive for componentsSupporting the strategy of the reuse of components (VPM – Virtual Product Management)Responsible for the creation, updating and maintaining of the Design guidelinesManage the layout of projects, components and systemsDefinition and issuing of specifications / test procedures for type tests of series and for FAIDevelop 3D solid and surface modelsGeneration of 2D build drawingsCollaboration and interaction with the business areas involved in the project development (Quality, Manufacturing, Procurement, Testing, Production)Interface with suppliers to define the mechanical requirements of componentsSkills:Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical of Thermodynamic preferred) and a minimum of 5 years work experience in a similar roleDetailed understanding of HVAC system functions including refrigeration, thermodynamics, heat transfer, airflow and ventilationGood understanding of the application of computer simulation tools and theory to HVAC system designExpert CAD knowledge (preferably CATIA)Expert knowledge of engineering materialsKnowledge of manufacturing processes in thermoforming, plastic injection molding and metal processingAbility to carry out static and dynamic mechanical analysis of complex systemsFluency in EnglishOrganizational skills and ability to work independently
