Mechanical Design Engineer, Structural Design Engineering (Body or Battery) - relocation to Berlin, Germany requiredJoin Vehicle Engineering in Berlin to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy where you will help design the next generation of cutting-edge automotive products for Tesla. You'll work alongside accomplished, world-renowned engineers on perhaps the most exciting automotive programs in existence today. What You'll DoCreate and develop Body-in-White or Battery enclosure component and system requirements and specifications to achieve best-in-class system targets for function, cost, weight, investment, NVH, thermal, structural and crash performance3D design and GD&T drawings of complex parts and assembliesOptimize designs via analytical, numerical, and/or empirical assessments, (DFMEA, fault tree, decision matrices, etc.

)Collaborate with teams inside and outside Tesla (manufacturing, test, NPI, supply chain, etc.

)Support continuous product and process improvement and question industry standards (as well as our own) to continually raise the barMentor less experienced engineers through the design processWhat You'll BringEducation background in mechanical engineering, or the equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional abilityStrong engineering fundamentals in materials and mechanicsStrong experience in CAD modeling (experience in CATIA V5/3DX is a plus but not required)Hands-on experience in automotive design and engineering, knowledge of relevant manufacturing processes and lightweight, recyclable and sustainable materials, comparable fields apply as wellDemonstrated ability to supervise a project from technical standpoint: from initial design to manufacturingFull design cycle experience in relevant field preferredFind joy from solving problems with design solutionsTesla is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer committed to diversity in the workplace.
