The company is a leading provider of Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and Monitoring Radar solutions worldwide. For our Pisa based office we are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer Team Leader. The candidate will report to the Design Engineering Manager and will be responsible for leading, supporting and coaching a team of mechanical engineers involved in the design of mechanical parts for IDS GeoRadar's products, such as ground penetrating radar, interferometric radar and cable locator equipment. He/she will coordinate and define the different activities within the team, according to the priorities, in alignment with R&D goals and objectives. He/she will work also on all the product design phases, such as conception, development, testing of prototypes, release for manufacturing and life cycle management. What we want you to do: Lead the major mechanical developments, providing a highly proficient design Organize the team's work; it includes the setting of individual projects, goals and relevant communications Supervise the progress of the work done by the team as well as technical soundness of the design choices Evaluation of individual teammate performance Planning the development and the growth for the team (courses/training/conferences) Compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and directions when working on customer / dealer / end user sites Additional duties may be assigned from time to time What would we like to see: Proven working experience in a similar position A relevant Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience Capability to technically support the team, monitoring the individual competences and providing contribution when facing the most important challenges ( Capability to empower the team by setting team goals (providing members with clarity on what they're expected to reach and provide, aligning them with how they are contributing to the overall R&D team and business success ) Capability to listen to the team members, communicate effectively with them providing proper feedback when required Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Innovative, creative and open minded Good knowledge of Siemens NX and Teamcenter Languages: Italian: fluent (both written and spoken) English: fluent (both written and spoken) Travel Requirements: The execution of the job activity is expected to be in the head office, sometimes could be requested to travel for meeting suppliers, mainly in Italy J-18808-Ljbffr
