The community you'll be caring for: Rome's historical markers help document the city's history and give insight into the culturally rich heritage. Population - 36, 332 (2019 census)Developed as a regional center for the fields of medical care and education. In addition to its public-school system, it has several private schools. Higher-level educational institutions include private Berry College and Shorter University, and the public Georgia Northwestern Technical College and Georgia Highlands College. Largest city near the center of the triangular area defined by the Interstate highways between Atlanta, GA, Birmingham, AL, and Chattanooga, TN. The role you'll contribute: The Medical Laboratory Scientist II performs various laboratory procedures in assigned areas as licensed/certified. Work customarily involves analytical testing of blood and/or human biological specimens. Analytical laboratory testing generally requires a moderate to high degree of theoretical and practical knowledge and expertise in licensed area(s). Depending on campus and department, various pre-and post-analytical work processes are included in the work duties customarily performed; on-call hours may also be required. Follows laboratory policies and procedures; maintains quality control practices in the Laboratory. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
