Medical Advisor & Medical Information Oncology
r**oles and responsibilities
Medical Advisor is a medical affair professional with excellent scientific understanding and knowledge in oncology.
She/He reports into the Local Medical Affairs Department.
- Participate and be an active member in the country Medical and Brand teams in order to provide medical input into Brand Strategy
- Is responsible to support medical managers in outlining medical strategy , building the medical plan and to execute medical activities for oncology portfolio. in line with shared needs.
- Supports with medical expertise cross-functional brand teams in all phases of life-cycle of managed products.
- Is responsible for development of science narratives and medical material to be used in the field (most commonly adapted from global material)
- Prepare and/or contribute as appropriate to medical/scientific disease area and product-specific training for internal Daiichi Sankyo colleagues (MSLs, sales force, etc) in collaboration with the pother colleagues involved (e. g.
Training Manager, ), enabling the field sales teams to understand and convey the scientific benefits of a Brand appropriately in a medically accurate and compliant manner.
- Engages in in-depth medical and scientific product or disease area discussions and presentations in a non-promotional scientific context with our key external experts, if needed.
- Is responsible for delivering high quality medical information from his/her core area (oncology) to external stakeholders
- Collect, submit for European Medical Team review and manage IITs in the country, coordinating budget and communication with EU colleague in alignment with Med managers. .
- In close alignment with the Medical Affairs Manager/Medical Director manage and co-ordinate Medical brand budgets pertaining to assigned projects, liaising with local finance as required.
- Coordinate with other medical functions to ensure aligned strategy.
- Able to identify develop and maintain partnership with external experts in the disease area to gather insights and input on treatments and develop peer to peer scientific partnerships with them in order to assess unmet needs (face-to-face, advisory boards ) in alignment with medical managers
- Provide scientific presentations (face-to-face and/or virtual) as needed and in line with regulations.
- Ensure support for all the medical activities , in line with the budget, regulations and follow-up rigorously
- Provide medical input for potential future compounds within the disease area if needed.
- Provide cross-functional medical support (marketing, market access Ensure timely completion of assigned tracker (e. g.
steeprock, medinfo system, budget, etc)
- Manage Medical Information requests to provide timely and informative responses to scientific enquiries pertaining to the product and disease area from external customers which accurately reflect scientific data.
**Provides expert support relating to product, patient treatment trends and scientific activities within disease area.
- Continuously updates knowledge of products, patient treatment trends and scientific activities within the Disease Area.
- Communicate medical benefits and risks for all products within the disease area in an accurate, balanced, fair objective manner.
**Ensure compliance with Daiichi Sankyo SOPs, as well as legal and ethical standards** Ensure that all medical and marketing materials are supported by scientific data and are presented in a fair, accurate and balanced way in compliance with the local legal and regulatory standards and ensure materials are reviewed and approved in line with local SOPs.
- Effectively liaise to ensure all activities are conducted according to DS SOP, legal and ethical standards
- Act as a role model who demonstrates consistent ethical and professional behaviour at all times.
- Alert management (e. g.
Medical Director or other Leadership Members)of any compliance issues.
- Ensure all communications to sales force are accurate and approved in accordance with the local, applicable code requirements.
- Declares immediately any adverse event to the responsible person for pharmacovigilance in accordance with the law, rules, regulations and Daiichi Sankyo SOPs.
