Medical Device Project Manager - Italy
Project Portfolio Manager** to manage the Project Stage Gate process across Corin, a manufacturer of hip and knee implants and medical technologies.
**Please note this is one role which can be based in either Itlay, Cirencester (UK), Germany, or Belgium.
**The key responsibilities of the Project Portfolio Manager are.
**Stage Gate process**:
- Manage the Stage Gate process for all the NPI projects across the organization (Implants, Techno-hardware, Techno-software)
- Ensure all NPI projects follow the Company's Stage Gate process
- Maintain, refine and improve the existing Stage Gate process
- Continue to develop the Stage Gate process and its alignment with the other linked processes - S&OP, Finance, CEC, Product rationalization process, etc but also to the Design procedures.
- Communicate and train people to make sure the Stage Gate process is properly understood and used by the various departments involved in the NPI project
**Project Approval Committee (PAC) board and New Product Introduction (NPI) board**:
- Schedule and set-up of the agenda for the meetings, collect the required data and distribute the presentations in advance to the meeting
- Animate and conduct the PAC and NPI meetings to make sure the agenda is covered, and all the key points are addressed
- Write of the meetings minutes (with an approval step) and distribute all the reporting documents according to the process rules
- Follow-up of the requested actions
- Make sure the communication is smooth and clear
- Challenge project leaders and team managers to make sure project proposals, plans and presented data are consistent and robust (timeline, budget, resource availability, strategy, production constraints, etc.
)
- Challenge directors to ensure clarity in the decision-making process
- Identify project conflicts and keep project priorities updated according to the Company's strategy
- Maintain with a high level of accuracy the monthly project portfolio reporting
- Update of the Project slide Deck
- Update of the Project reporting document
- Refine and improve the existing PAC and monthly project reporting process
- Gather consensus regarding Gates to be presented for approval to the NPI board
**Project Core Teams (PCT)**:
- Improve the way the PCTs are working, the way cross-functional teams are built, and resource allocation is managed
- Collaborate with project leaders to ensure efficient decision-making process and precise monthly project schedule performance
- Coordinate additional, parallel project related meetings if required
- Identify needs and implement trainings to reinforce skills in this project management area across the organization
**Other general responsibilities**:
- Manage establishment of processes and systems that support the product development lifecycle, according to the Company's quality systems
- Facilitate the refinement and the harmonization of the Design quality system and the key SOP's linked to the development of new projects across the organization
- Ensure that projects selected to proceed meet the Company's investment criteria and/or support the Company's business strategy
- Keep up to date with programme/Project Management best practices and introduce these to Corin as necessary
- Ensure visibility of projects, both NPI and other key non-NPI projects, to key stakeholders via suitable software/IT systems or using standardised reports
**Requirements**:
**The ideal Project Portfolio Manager will have/be**:
- Educated to Master level in Biomedical engineering
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good time management skills.
- The ability to produce and deliver technical/business presentations.
- Excellent listening skills.
- Strong capacity to negotiate and to influence.
- Programme/Project Management skills and experience gained within high-tech industries.
- Excellent IT, presentation and numeracy skills.
- Business focussed, flexible and responsive.
- Highly motivated and capable of working with a minimum of supervision.
- The ability to identify and analyse problems and generate solutions.
