We are looking for a **Area Medical Operations & Medical Excellence Lead (all genders)
The position is open to **all locations in US and EEMEA regions
This role will partner with the Med Directors as well as with the Global Scientific Partnership function to deliver the tools, resources and materials needed by the field to ultimately create a climate in which self-motivated individuals will aspire to higher levels of performance.
The role Provides operational support and guidance to the Area Medical Affairs Leadership team in developing, aligning, resourcing, and executing functional, operational, and financial priorities ensuring alignment with overarching GAMA and Area and key stakeholder projects and strategies.
**CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Collaborate with the Med.
Directors, Area Head, Scientific Leads and Field Leads to:
- Lead a systematic definition and implementation of MSL impact measurement (e. g.
quantitative and qualitative MSL metrics, KPIs) and continuously enhance measures to address internal and external changes.
- Define Field Medical analytics (e. g.
outcomes analytics) to predict better performance
- Monitor external industry medical affairs activities (pharma benchmark reports) and drive the development, summarization and reporting of relevant external reports to evaluate impact and value of Medical Affairs roles and propose enhancement plans
- Lead the strategic development and enhancement of the CRM system and design and enhance related Field Medical processes
- Lead, develop and successfully deploy MSL engagement strategy and execute initiatives across WEC and Collaborates with the Scientific leads to develop and maintain a forum for training and MSL best practice sharing
- Provides leadership in medical excellence execution cross all employees in Allergan Aesthesis (AA) Medical affairs by adapting Abbvie tools and training for AA, leasing with HR to drive excellence in people development.
- Demonstrate strong business acumen and knowledge of key Area and Affiliate strategies impacting the business priorities and over-all financials for the Area, working closely with various Finance stakeholders for GAMA and the respective area; Partner with Area Head and Area Finance in tracking Area annual plan and budget versus actuals; May assist Area Head to highlight key variances to plan and in identifying and managing the factors driving these variances.
- Understand key timelines and Area deliverables for launch readiness aligned to Area Launch Excellence team and serve as resource for operational aspects to Affiliates
- Identification and execution of Area-specific onboarding initiatives to meet specific needs identified during the planning processes to complement general onboarding or training programs provided by GAMA and GMA.
- Partner with Area Head on core governance bodies and area-wide communications such as Medical Leadership forums supporting the team with developing scope and agenda, identifying contributors, ensuring clear understanding of requirements and expectations, and tracking key decisions and action items.
- Help drive identification and definition of Area KPIs/key metrics and ensure accurate and timely reporting to key business partners at Global/HQ, Area, and Affiliate level
**Qualifications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**:
- University/Bachelor's degree or higher, with a strong background in health sciences
- Medical Affairs experience is required.
Experience in a senior role in Affiliate Medical Department, Regional Medical Affairs, or working with Affiliate Medical Departments is desirable.
Hands-on experience managing and leading groups of processionals is preferred
- 5 or more years in business operations, project management, or related experience.
- Advanced knowledge of standard business procedures including project management, finance, and budgeting
- Demonstrated leadership skills with broad business orientation.
Ability to command the respect and support of the AbbVie international medical and marketing communities.
- Experience working in a global organization with the ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment and matrix environment
- Fluency in English and an appreciation of the difficulties and ambiguities in English language usage in the region.
Fluency in a regional language is a definite asset
- Sensitivity to cultural differences and an awareness of differences in medical and clinical practice in the region
- Self-starter with vision and initiative and the ability to work unsupervised towards the achievement of challenging goals
