Modelling Engineer Intern Role description Prometeon Tyre Group is looking for a Modelling Engineer Intern to support and collaborate with the Truck Product Development Team. The candidate will be involved in utilizing simulation technologies to predict the performance of Prometeon products, ensuring they meet market needs and expectations in alignment with the company's strategic plan. Key responsibilities: The candidate will support the team in the following activities: Study of new tyre structures to optimize product durability and performance using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) methods. Research of new material models to improve product development and enhance new tyre designs. Comparison between the physical model and virtual simulations, focusing on necessary modifications to the tyre. Creation of new prototypes and molds through virtual prototyping. Validation of FEA/FEM tyre models by correlating them with experimental data (from laboratory and indoor/outdoor testing), while interfacing with other R&D departments as well as the Product, Testing, Materials and Outdoor Testing team. Support for product development and R&D activities. Qualifications required: We are looking for candidates with a degree in Engineering, preferably with a specialization in Mechanical, Aerospace, Nuclear, or Vehicle Engineering. A degree in Physics with a specialization in Engineering will also be positively considered. Candidates nearing the completion of their Master's degree (thesis not yet required) are also welcome to apply. Python programming skills. Experience with FEA modeling (ABAQUS, Hypermesh, etc.

). Having some knowledge of tyre mechanics is a plus Preferably, experience with vehicle dynamics (Truck Sim, Car Sim, or ADAMS). Familiarity with FEA tools applied to tyre design is a plus. Fluency in spoken and written English and Italian. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with the ability to work with complex technical data. These must be paired with strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
