Modern Trade Marketing Manager
illycaffè is an Italian company founded in Trieste in 1933 with the mission to offer the best coffee to the world. We are looking for a Marketing Manager for Modern Trade to join our Global Marketing Department. The mission of the Marketing Manager for Modern Trade is developing and executing trade marketing strategies tailored to modern retail formats, such as supermarkets, hypermarkets, and e-commerce platforms. This role bridges marketing and sales, ensuring that brand strategies are effectively implemented at the point of sale to drive consumer engagement, product visibility, and revenue growth. What will you do as a MT Marketing Manager: Strategic Planning and Execution Develop and execute marketing strategies specific to the Italy Modern Trade channel to achieve business objectives. Collaborate with global marketing and sales teams to ensure alignment and effective execution of marketing strategies and sales goals. Lead the launch plans for new products in coordination with cross-functional teams. Create and implement client plans, including presentations to clients, annual trade calendars for promotions, events, and in-store activations. Promotion and Campaign Management Design, implement, and monitor in-store promotional campaigns, including discounts, bundling offers, and loyalty programs. Partner with retailers to develop joint business plans, leveraging co-marketing opportunities. Merchandising and Visibility Ensure effective merchandising to enhance brand visibility and drive sales in Modern Trade outlets, managing merchandising agency to ensure optimal product visibility and presentation. Data Analysis, Reporting and Category Management Track and analyze sales performance, market trends, and shopper behavior to identify opportunities for category growth within the Modern Trade channel. Work closely with key accounts to optimize shelf space, product assortment, and stock levels. Deliver regular analysis of Circana (formerly IRI) data and other platforms to evaluate market performance and competition and provide actionable insights to stakeholders to inform decision-making. Budget Management Manage the marketing budget for Modern Trade, ensuring efficient allocation of resources. Monitor expenditures and ensure all activities deliver a strong return on investment (ROI). Your Requirements: Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business Administration, or related field. Proven experience in channel marketing within the MT and Horeca sectors. Strong analytical strategic thinking skills with the ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights. Creative problem-solving and innovation in marketing approaches. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to manage budgets and deliver ROI-driven campaigns. Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and work in a fast-paced environment. Experience in the food and beverage industry is highly desirable. Proficient in data analysis tools (e. g. , Excel, Circana, Power BI). Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
