Offer Description The aim of the project is to develop a SPECT prototype for real-time monitoring of the dose imparted by capture reactions on 10B in BNCT.

The technology used is that of LaBr3 coupled to SiPM.

Due to the intense radiation background expected in BNCT, hardware development must be supported by careful modeling of the BNCT structure.

The activities of the grant concern:

Monte Carlo modeling of the (n+? ) mixed field expected in the neutron facilities of the TRIGA Mark II nuclear research reactor of the University of Pavia and the High Flux Accelerator-Driven Neutron Facility of the University of Birmingham, UK; Development of screens and collimators; Participation and support in planned experiments via simulation; Analysis of the data obtained; Support in the communication and dissemination activities of the PRIN PNRR 2022 PNRR project – F53D23008540001 – P2022MENMM_002.
