As **Hematology MSL Manager **in Italy, you will play a pivotal role in channelling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients' lives.
In the last 15 years, the efforts of AstraZeneca have been focused mainly in finding effective treatments for the cure of breast, prostate, ovarian and lung cancer and the area of interest are becoming every day broader due the new exciting results that have been recently presented also in different tumor types.
In this contest, AstraZeneca is facing a new challenge by developing a consistent pipeline in onco-hematology, exploring a large number of new molecules in different settings, such as CLL, NHL, mantle cell lymphoma, multiple myeloma and lymphoblastic acute leukemia.
In particular, in a rapidly evolving scenario, CLL is in this moment the main onco-hematological area in which AstraZeneca is getting closer to launch a promising new drug.
As **MSL Manager Hematology**, you will have operational oversight of MSLs' activities and will be involved in the local planning and delivery of AstraZeneca medical strategies.
The MSL Manager provides guidance for MSLs engagement with key external specialists, healthcare professionals, and clinical investigators.
Ensuring MSLs compliance and execution of Medical Plan activities is a main responsibility of the role.
The MSL Manager must not have commercial objectives or measures; however, you are expected to work closely with cross-functional teams (sales & marketing, market access and diagnostics) to guarantee alignment.

**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The role broadly includes the following key components:
- Medical Plan Execution Support
- Aligning MSLs' plan with Medical Strategy and implementing Field Medical Affairs strategy and objectives across the portfolio or therapeutic area to carry out at a local level
- Providing oversight and direction to the MSL teams supporting the Oncology R&D clinical operations team and the Global Medical Affairs (GMA) evidence generation team on study site identification and patient recruitment for clinical studies of pipeline and marketed assets
- Working with MSLs to support investigators' proposals for local and regional clinical activities
- Facilitating communication of insights from the field to local/regional/global Medical Affairs teams regarding clinical practice patterns, the patient journey, payer requirements, and clinical development activities, using _Veeva Medical CRM_ reporting
- Team Management
- Developing and leading field-based MSL teams in support of the Medical Plan while encouraging a culture of innovation and collaboration
- Being responsible for recruiting and onboarding, performance management and career development
- Facilitating scientific and skill training and support the development of MSL capabilities/ Medical Excellence
- Support Capability Building in Healthcare Ecosystem
- Ensuring MSLs are providing accurate and appropriate scientific data to unsolicited scientific questions posed by HCPs
- Supporting MSLs in working with the local Medical Lead to recommend scientifically relevant medical programs such as _Continuous Medical Educational Programs_ and _Symposia_
- Supporting the work of MSLs to identify and train regional and local speakers in the delivery of relevant presentations
- Compliance with all Legal and Internal Requirements
- Overseeing compliance and follow all local regulatory requirements and AstraZeneca Local and Global Policies, Guidelines and Code of Conduct
- Ensuring the timely completion of relevant policy, guidelines and compliance training by MSLs
- Monitoring compliance with _Veeva Medical CRM_ documentation (e. g. , timely interaction entry, assurance reporting)
- Ensuring understanding of the AstraZeneca Global MSL Guide, AstraZeneca Code of Conduct, External Interactions Policy and Standards, and Publications Policy along with relevant local industry codes of conduct
**ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Scientific or Medical Degree
- Fundamental knowledge of basic research, drug discovery, drug development, clinical environment
- Knowledge of the local regulatory requirements related to medical affairs activities
- Experience in product launch preparation and execution
- Strong leadership capabilities and entrepreneurial mindset
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- Project management experience
- Proficiency in spoken English and Italian
**DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
- Qualified Doctor in the relevant TA
- PhD in the relevant TA
- Experience in clinical trials
- Experience related to the Hematology Therapeutic
