Naval Ships Surveyor
RINA is currently recruiting for a Naval Ships Surveyor to join its office in La Spezia within the Marine Special Ships Excellence Centre Division.
Mission
The Naval Ships Senior Surveyor position at RINA Services S. p. A. is a role where you will serve as an experienced and knowledgeable professional within the organization.
You will apply your expertise in maritime Rules, Regulations, and industry principles to ensure the accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement of surveying processes.
Key Accountabilities
Professional Specialist: Utilize your in-depth knowledge of Rules, Regulations, and industry concepts to act as a subject matter expert.
Stay updated with industry developments and recommend necessary changes to surveying processes and safety programs to enhance effectiveness. Inspection and Reporting: Conduct routine surveys on classed ships, offshore installations, or marine assets to ensure strict compliance with classification and statutory requirements.
Generate accurate and timely inspection reports for record-keeping and compliance purposes. Leadership and Coordination: Plan, schedule, and coordinate various surveying work phases.
Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced surveyors to ensure the delivery of high-quality service to clients. Client Interaction: Engage with clients to address and resolve problems within your area of expertise, ensuring client satisfaction through clear and timely communication and issue resolution. Training and Development: Support the growth and development of junior surveyors by offering guidance, training, and mentorship to enhance the overall skills and knowledge of the team, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Quality Assurance and Ethical Conduct: Uphold stringent quality, content, and ethical standards in all professional interactions.
Maintain integrity, transparency, and fairness in all survey processes to uphold the reputation and credibility of the organization. Education
Master's Degree in Naval Engineering
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Surveyor or 6 years in engineering/inspection fields with an IACS member Classification Society. Understanding of RINA's technical positioning in the marine industry. Proficiency in the English language for classification and statutory certification services. Ability to develop knowledge of RINA Rules, Guides, statutory regulations, and safety policies. Competence in assessing materials, products, shipbuilding practices, and operations. Experience in new building surveys, ship in service surveys, audits, and testing activities. Knowledge of ship engineering systems, software packages, and technical interfaces for project collaboration. Competencies
