What you'll do:You will work in a team of Network Planners, Developers, and Data Scientists to support the development of modeling and analytics capabilities for planning Sky's Mobile and Voice network infrastructure and to drive the network strategy. This is a highly dynamic role that will allow you to grow multidisciplinary skills in the Data Science, Network Modeling, and Cloud Development domains. Your main responsibilities will be:Data Engineering and Analysis:Ingest and process network and commercial dataCreate regular and ad hoc reportsCommunicate requirements to the software teamNetwork Modeling:Identify network capacity limits and network metricsCreate capacity and economic network modelsGenerate capacity and budget forecastsNetwork Analytics:Apply data science methodologies to analyze and improve network performance and cost efficiencyDevelop insights to support commercial objectives and present analysis/plans to relevant stakeholders up to UK CTOWhat you'll bring:You will have good knowledge and experience (gained in the industry) in the data science area.

Alternatively, you have industry network experience combined with good exposure to data analytics. Essential requirements:BSc in Maths, Statistics, Data Science (or similar)Proven experience with managing and analyzing time series dataHands-on programming skills in Python and SQLFamiliarity with Agile methodologiesExcellent presentation skillsStakeholder management experienceDesirable requirements:PhD in Computer Science or similarExperience capacity planning virtual appliancesFamiliarity with large packet core and mobile networksWorking experience deploying solutions on public cloudTeam Overview:The Network Software and Data Science team, part of Sky's Engineering Division, takes a data-driven approach towards meeting network planning goals, including capacity planning, performance planning, and network economics.
