New Build Deputy Manager
OVERALL PURPOSE OF ROLE
To manage, together with the New Build Vessel Manager, the construction, conversion and any other related "new build" activities on vessels that will be part of Prysmian Fleet.
We are looking for a passionate professional, to be proactive in focusing on cable installation engineering and activities by sporadically visiting offshore operations as appropriate.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Day-by-day management and control of all vessel constructions, conversions and major modifications to the fleet, including manning, engineering and cost controlling for the project in the current portfolio.
- Responsible for the correct flow of information and interface management between all the project stakeholders, in cooperation with Fleet Management.
- Responsible for the release of Request for Quotation to Purchasing department and for tender process technical management for major construction and conversions.
- Ensure that appropriate resources are identified and involved in pre-project planning for a successful delivery of projects.
- Responsible for the day-by-day operational management of superintendents deployed during the projects execution as agreed with New Build Vessel Manager, Installation Director and Fleet Management.
- To ensure that all activities are performed accordingly to Group Policy for what concern quality, health, safety, environmental and ethics.
- To be proactive in proposing a continuous performance improvement plan, which will be reported and reviewed by New Build Vessel Manager on a periodical basis.
- To issue comment on drawings for approval in accordance with shipbuilding contract.
- To manage vessel's delivery according to schedule and Business Division projects requirements.
- To critically evaluates technical and contractual information relating to vessel construction, in particular having a clear overview of the contractual key elements, constraints and permits requirements relevant to the installation works.
- To ensure that the facilities under your control, both Prysmian Group project facilities and subcontractor facilities, are managed safely and in accordance with legislation and industry best practice.
- To be autonomous in conducting Operational presentations to customers and industry seminars.
- To act in compliance with the requirements set in Group and Business Division policies and procedures, national and international legislation.
- To review, enhance and maintain technical project specific procedures.
- To ensure that project final as-built documentation is to the highest Standard expected in the industry and according to contract requirements.
- To ensure that all the staff complies with contractual requirements, local regulations and Company policies and procedures, with particular emphasis on risk, quality, health, safety and environment.

Frequent travels on an international basis are required.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Engineering Technology, specifically marine construction are preferred
Previous experience in extensive management and project management
Knowledge of the marine industry and a successful track record in delivering vessel construction projects
Proven communication skills
Minimum Experience:
- At least 5 years' experience in a senior role involved in vessel construction and conversions, delivered on a number of industry projects related, across different sectors and customers.
- Practical experience of ships, relevant international rules and regulations
- Experience in vessel construction with successful adherence to health, safety and environmental targets in a highly regulated industry.
Proven man-management experience of successfully managing multi-disciplined teams in a technical engineering environment.
