The successful candidate will work on development and management of CAEN products in the nuclear safeguard, security, and environmental radiologic monitoring fields. They will ensure product quality throughout the entire production chain, from design to testing, based on market analysis and client follow-ups.

Job Description:

Full-time position

Location: Viareggio, Italy

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

Work with tasks and deadlines, providing feedback and reports to superiors

Monitor product development, collaborating with a team of experts across various fields

Provide expert knowledge of products and applications to key accounts, aiming to offer consultative scientific support

Available to travel and work in the field, attending meetings with key customers, assisting in product evaluation, and presenting scientific seminars

Produce technical documentation, including application notes, presentations, guides, and user manuals

Travel nationally and internationally for conferences and customer meetings

Prepare periodic reports on market trends, product development, and present findings at conferences and in papers

Qualifications:

Master's degree in Particle or Nuclear Physics, or Nuclear Engineering

Ph. D. in a scientific field required; 2-3 years of experience in R&D projects preferred

Excellent knowledge of ionizing radiation detectors and analog signal conditioning

Fluent in English (written and spoken) at a minimum B2 level

Fluent in Italian (written and spoken) at a minimum B2 level

Hands-on experience with fast digital electronics integration (fADC or ASICs) for ionizing radiation data acquisition, particularly gamma and neutron detection

Experience in designing, setting up, and testing radiation measurement system prototypes (preferred)

Familiarity with CAEN SpA digital data acquisition electronics (preferred)

Deep knowledge of statistical data analysis and quantitative spectrum analysis techniques

Knowledge of programming languages such as C, C++, LabView, and Python (an asset)

Experience in software algorithm implementation (an asset)

Experience in system modeling and simulation, including numerical analysis or Monte Carlo methods (Geant4 or MCNP) (an asset)

Experience writing scientific papers, presenting at international conferences, and collaborating on international scientific or engineering projects

Soft Skills:

Strong personal task management skills and high self-motivation

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Positive and collaborative mindset to effectively manage teamwork and report to high-level management

Availability for national and international travel (up to 10 days per trip)
