OverviewPOSITION SUMMARYThe Radiologic Technologist performs a variety of duties in preparing patients for scans of particular organs to furnish diagnostic information.
This individual operates radioscopic equipment to produce scanograms and measures concentrations of radioactive isotopes in specified body areas.
The Radiologic Technologist provides appropriate age-specific patient care to neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient populations. QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION REQUIREDHigh School Diploma or equivalentGraduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic TechnologyMeets requirements for registry by ARRTAttended an accredited Nuclear Medicine school and/or completed an appropriate training program under the supervision of a Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist, Director of Radiology or Chief RadiologistMaintains and documents continuing education requirements as required by AART and CNMTCompletes age specific educationCompletion of age specific competency checklistCompletes competency requirements as a registered radiologic technologistMaintains department specific educational requirementsEDUCATION PREFERREDNoneLICENSURES OR CERTIFICATIONS REQUIREDCurrent ARRT registry with card on file in Director's officeLICENSURES OR CERTIFICATIONS PREFERREDCurrent NMCTB registry with card on file in Director's officeEXPERIENCE REQUIREDOne year or more as a Radiologic TechnologistAdequate capabilities as determined by department administratorEXPERIENCE PREFERREDOne year or more as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist #J-18808-Ljbffr
