Many need care and protection from a life of suffering and neglect, whilst others have a vital role to play in human survival and happiness - they are at the heart of everything we do here at Il Rifugio degli Asinelli.
We have an excellent opportunity for a friendly and professional team player to join our office team as an Office Administrator - Finance.
With strong customer service and organisational skills, you will provide administrative and finance support for Il Rifugio degli Asinelli (hereinafter IRDA) focusing on financial reporting processes within agreed time frames in collaboration with The Donkey Sanctuary UK (hereinafter TDSUK) finance department.
Your main duties and responsibilities within this varied and rewarding role will include
- Undertaking day to day office administration, answering enquiries and referring concerns to the Country Manager.
- Recording all financial transactions using IRDA's accounting software.
- Ensuring cash is secured in line with Charity procedures.
- Ensuring the charity meets all deadlines in country for presentation of necessary accountancy statements, requests and filing.
- Preparing weekly and monthly bank reconciliations and transactions (including income and expenditure).
- Assisting with the preparation and analysis of income and expenditure accounts for IRDA on agreed dates.
- Maintaining petty cash and reconcile on monthly basis; ensure relevant paperwork is up to date.
- Assisting with end of year accounts, including fixed assets and stock taking.
A high school diploma with bookkeeping qualification, together with demonstrable bookkeeping (first accounting note to final balance sheet) and cash handling experience, is essential, as are excellent written and spoken Italian, the ability to communicate in English, knowledge of accountancy software and the ability to work using Excel.

Based at our centre in Sala Biellese, deep in the green woodland of the Serra hills in North Piedmont - this is a part-time, 12-month fixed term contract starting as soon as possible, working 24 hours per week.
Both home and onsite working will be included, and the working pattern will be agreed between the line manager and the post-holder.
