Description OVERALL PURPOSE OF ROLE:The Offshore superintendent role covers, based on the experience, mainly the function of Offshore Manager/Deputy Offshore manager in the offshore installation sites, with a partial involvement as Installation Engineer in the office work.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESMarine Operation Superintendent in the offshore installation sites

This part of the role covers the operative execution on all marine installation sites activities for the implementation of a Project. The activity is carried out mainly on installation vessels or more in general, on other marine installation sites, such as landing points, offshore platforms, etc. He/She works in teams of different dimensions depending on the work importance and complexity.

Main activities falling under the responsibility of the Superintendent include, but are not limited to:

Preliminary works, such as route clearance, PLGR, pre-lay burial runs, mobilization of vesselsCable loadingCable layingCable burial with a wide variety of tools/machinesCable pulling through HDD conduits or onto offshore platformsCable repair and jointingOnce on site, duties and responsibilities of the Superintendent in the operative execution of cable installation works include a full variety of aspects:

Technical/Quality - with regards to cable and equipment management and installation procedures, in compliance with specification and Project documentationHealth and Safety - for all personnel involved in the operations and reporting to the installation TeamEnvironment - as far as compliance with statutory and Company policy to preserve the environment and prevent pollution are concerned (not excluding suitable measures of standard practice)Company Asset Care - for preliminary verification of test/certification, correct use during operations and respect of predefined maintenance for all assets, from the vessels and burial/subsea machines to all installation equipment and toolsDefine, select, prepare installation assets - vessels, burial machines, general installation equipmentProject constraints and specification - as far as the specific Contract clauses are concernedOperative Schedule - in terms of efficiency and respect of plansClient relationship care - with the Client Representatives present on siteSupervision of Subcontractors - during the installation phase (including once more all above aspects, Technical, Quality, HSE, Contract, etc)Interface with Installation Department Management - and other Company Departments, mainly Project Management, Manufacturing, System Engineering, Quality, in terms of regular, suitable and correct reporting. Installation Engineer in the office work

This activity can be called Detailed Engineering for project specific installation works. Tasks are conducted in coordination with other colleagues of Installation Department and with other functions such as System Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Management, Quality, purchasing with the aim of supporting the execution of the submarine systems projects awarded to Prysmian.

Duties and responsibilities are including but not limited to:

Support the preparation of installation documentation for the project execution (usually called "Installation Manual"). Support the subcontractor selection, starting from the preparation of specification to be used as technical documents in the request for quotation. Interact with project Clients, mainly on technical, planning, operative aspects, in conference telecommunications or direct meetings. Prepare As-built documentation during project completion phase (usually called "Final Reports"), mainly gathering all reports, records, certificates, quality documents, etc issued throughout the project execution from all operative sites. The duties contained in this job description are not exhaustive and the job holder may be asked by management to undertake reasonable duties associated with this function. Function requires significant travel on an international basis.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCEMinimum Qualifications:

Preferred to have a technical background in Engineering Technology or other Engineering related subjects.

Minimum Experience:

Preferably experience in a role involved in installation of submarine cable but more in general in the construction industry. This is not a mandatory requirement since the industry sector is very specific, to be noted that Prysmian has a dedicated training and development process within Marine Operations department.
