**YOUR TEAM

The open postdoctoral position focuses on the investigation and implementation of tools for the identification of interindividual differences to improve interaction with artificial systems and the development of new tools for useful interaction.

Quantifying user differences is a frontier for the development of accessible and useful technology.

Mathematical models combined with motor analysis and artificial intelligence models will be used to quantify perceptual and motor differences between individuals and to make predictions on the technological output.

The goal of the project is to develop and validate new technological solutions that are able to predict and adapt to user needs.

Psychophysical sensory, multisensory and sensory-motor studies will be combined with motor tracking and biometric human parameters analysis, and to determine user skills and applied with machine learning approaches to the development and validation of new interactive solutions.

The successful applicant will join an interdisciplinary team and conduct research within the Unit for Visually Impaired People (U-VIP) Research Line (Principal Investigator: Monica Gori).

The research will be conducted in a fully equipped laboratory, supplied with several multisensory technologies, motion capture, and eye-tracking devices, in a group with a variety of competencies ranging from engineering, neurophysiology, statistical experts, cognitive neuroscientists, and experts of rehabilitation.

The research for this Postdoctoral position will involve:

- Human models, programming, human signal, and motor processing.

- computational models in the development of perceptual and motor abilities.

- Machine learning methods that promote interaction

- design of experiments, testing, and data analysis in human-tools interaction settings.

- Collaborate at the development of tools

The goal of the research is to quantify the user difference to develop and validate urban technology of inclusive engagement.

**ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

- PhD in engineering, modeling, computer science, robotics, psychophysics, applied neuroscience, biomedical engineering, or related fields;

- Ability to communicate proficiently in English (written and spoken);

- Experience in mathematical models and possibly machine learning

- Experience in data analysis, modeling and statistics

- Ability to properly report, organize and publish research data

- Documented experience in coaching junior scientists

**ADDITIONAL SKILLS

- Knowledge of programming languages

- Experience with psychophysical measurements, Bayesian models and motion tracking;

- Experience in human-artificial Interaction;

- Good communication skills

- Strong problem-solving attitude

- High motivation to learn

- Spirit of innovation and creativity

- Good at time and priority management

- Ability to work in a challenging and international environment

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary environment
