The project will include, but will not be limited to, classical and innovative optimization techniques in Operations Research, along with approaches based on machine learning and/or deep learning. There will also be a significant theoretical component, with objectives including the analysis of the computational complexity of problems and algorithms related to the optimization of radiotherapy treatment plans. Monte Carlo techniques will be used, possibly in conjunction with approximate methods, for the "in silico" simulation of treatment plans.
