Opto-Mechanical Ait Engineer
We are looking for an Opto-Mechanical AIT Engineer on behalf of and in support to our client for their location in Milan, Italy. The Telescopes Department is responsible for the design, manufacturing, and installation of a remotely controlled Telescope to support the main space agencies in Space Safety activities (SST and NEO fields). The Flyeye Telescope, thanks to its extremely wide field of view, can detect hazardous objects continuously scanning the night sky. It is the answer for a safe Space and a safer life on planet Earth. You will join a fast-growing environment that will offer a unique experience that will involve you from the design phase to the commissioning of our systems at some of the world's most beautiful astronomical sites. You will be involved in all integration and test phases, both in-Factory and at the final sites. You will have the exciting opportunity to challenge yourself working under the clearest skies on Earth. Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Furthermore, upon selection, they will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at interview stage). The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to: Active part in telescope integration and optical alignment activities; Collaborate with the Telescope AIT Team and Optical Engineers both in-Factory and at the final Site of the Telescope; Prepare the AIT documentation e. g. Integration and Test Procedures, Setup design, As-run Procedures; Handle mechanical and optical assemblies, tools and GSEs; Actively participate in periodic technical/review/progress meetings; Support during night test observations. Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics or another relevant field; At least 2 years of experience in the domain of AIT; Basic experience in 3D CAD Models tools; Confident MS Office tools user; Good reporting capabilities and easy communication both to colleagues and responsible; Outstanding teamwork capabilities; Understanding of issues, identification of root causes, definition of solutions; Proactive attitude; Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; Good time-management skills; Availability to execute the activities also abroad in mid/long term missions; Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
