Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY :

The Laboratory for Laser Energetics (LLE) of the University of Rochester is a unique national resource for research and education in science and technology.

LLE was established in 1970 as a center for the investigation of the interaction of intense radiation with matter.

The Facility Operations Division is seeking a technician to help prepare and support the laser equipment.

A successful candidate will be challenged by the wide range of technologies used to conduct these experiments.

Support the installation and operation of equipment and instrumentation for laser physics experiments Troubleshoot optical, mechanical, and electrical issues and identify potential solutions Perform preventative maintenance Participate in the design and installation of new equipment Handle radiation materials – will be required to qualify as a NYS Radiation Safety Worker Shift flexibility is required (Morning and Evening shifts) Qualifications Associate's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics field plus one-year experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Essential Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn additional software operation Ability to work in a cleanroom environment Ability to lift to 50 lbs.

Pay Range Pay Range: $23. 06 - $32. 29 Hourly

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job.
