Packaging Project Manager
Context The profile will enter into a consolidated business context that for the first time approaches the Fragrances & Cosmetics Packaging sector internally almost with a start-up mentality.
It will therefore have full autonomy in organizing the monitoring of development and production flows.
The entire project is driven by a strong Importante Azienda of the Maison Creative Director.
As a consequence, the Packaging projects will have an high visibility and exposure.
Mission
The Packaging Project Manager is responsible for managing the realization of the packaging in fragrance & cosmetics environment.
Start and establish the packaging development program for new projects, the technical specifications, the main plans by supporting all the departments involved (product team, purchasing, industrialization, production, design and quality), through the monitoring of packaging specifications (shape, materials, suppliers).
Key Responsabilities
Collaborate with Product team on the packaging creation
Perform technical feasibility studies and cost analysis validating the functional and dimensional approval and ensure the right compatibility with the contents
Ensure technical development of components (set-up and conditioning) and coordinate industrialization with Quality, Operations & suppliers
Monitoring the industrialization Importante Azienda product design, in particular by participating in the testing and start-up phases of production, KPI's definition and follow-up
Support Purchasing department on the potential suppliers and collaborate to choose final partner, providing technical advice Importante Azienda the purchasing negotiations
Monitor suppliers and ensure compliance with development times, quality standards defined by the brand components and finished goods (certification, range of defects, range of colors. . . ), performing audits and creating the related action plans
Manage directly packaging production lines upgrades
Partner with Planning department to ensure the provided deadlines are respected
Guarantee the fulfilment of the quality requirements (as per international regulations and standards) and environmental packaging performance
Participate in the continuous improvement of packaging and the resolution of quality problems
Manage the CAPEX & OPEX budget.
Place of work
Florence (Italy) but with frequent trips to France and around Europe
Profile
University education and degree engineering with a specialization in Packaging (ESIEC or ESEPAC) or with a specialization in Materials (EPFL; HES; UTC; Ecoles Centrales, ENSAM etc )
7+ years professional experience in a packaging production or development environment, preferably within the Perfume or Cosmetics industry or Spirits industry
Knowledge of production processes and techniques, packaging and materials (glass; plastic; metal; box or têxtile) together with formats, markets and suppliers
Good knowledge in MS Office computing, Solidworks; CAO and CapePack an asset.
C1 in French and English, Italian is a plus
Strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
Project Management
Ability to work under pressure and manage several projects at the same time
