About the role
We're looking for a payment operations wizard who can help us scale our rapidly growing business while keeping risk under control. You'll be the bridge between our risk management and commercial teams, crafting strategies that balance growth with security. Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain relationships with payment processors and risk management vendors Lead negotiations with payment service providers to optimize processing fees Drive end-to-end partnership lifecycle from prospecting to contract finalization Design and execute risk mitigation strategies to optimize dispute and fraud rates Craft dispute prevention and resolution processes that follow industry best practices Identify and implement automation opportunities across our payment operations Research and integrate alternative payment methods to boost conversion rates Scout and evaluate new payment processing partners to support our rapid growth Analyze payment performance data and create actionable insights Help select and implement tools to streamline our payment infrastructure Qualifications
You have 2+ years of experience in payment operations, risk management, or similar role You have experience in commercial negotiations and vendor management You possess strong communication and deal-making skills You understand payment processing fee structures and optimization strategies You're analytically minded with strong Excel skills (pivot tables are your friends) You have experience with payment dashboards and analytics tools You understand the intricacies of digital payments and risk management You're comfortable working with both technical and business stakeholders You have excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail You're proactive and can work independently while supporting team goals Nice to have
Experience with Stripe, PayPal, or other major payment processors Knowledge of high-risk merchant account management Familiarity with payment orchestration platforms (like Primer. io) Experience with D2C subscription-based products and their payment challenges Location
Ruby Labs operates within the CET (Central European Time) zone. Applicants from any country are welcome to apply for the position as long as they are located within approximately ± 4 hours of CET. This ensures optimal collaboration and communication during working hours.
