Pc Technician I
BASIC FUNCTION(the primary purpose of this position):
Installs, modifies, troubleshoots, repairs and tracks PC's, Mac's, printers, peripherals and software systems and provides technical assistance and training to Team Members on local & wireless networks and phone systems.
Performs Audio Visual equipment setup, troubleshooting and breakdown.
Possesses superior communication skills with ability to communicate succinctly and diplomatically.
Must type a minimum of 40 WPM and possess a high degree of organization with superior writing and grammatical skills.
Must interact with every Team Member in the organization in a consistent and professional manner.
Must have the ability and desire to learn more complex computer service tasks and seeks IT as a career path.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Promote a clean, safe, healthy and friendly work environment for employees and guests; report and direct safety issues to Safety Committee.
Enters work estimates and progress into the IT work tracking system for all work done at the Casino.
Provides updates, status, and project completion information to IT Help Desk and IT Director in a timely manner.
Recommends action to IT Help Desk or IT Director for the prevention of problems.
Responds to user help calls by working on highest priority assignments dictated by "To Do" lists from the IT Work Tracking system.
Notifies and completes appropriate procedures or IT Work Tracking system status entries for the IT Help Desk when equipment is installed, moved or when software is changed.
Builds, installs, troubleshoots and repairs PC systems.
Performs research and testing of software and/or procedures in order to deliver superior training to Team Members.
Prepares verbal and/or written activity and progress reports regarding IT project statuses.
Creates and performs PC and Mac installations and troubleshooting based on documented IT standards.
Under the direction of the IT Help Desk, performs IT equipment inventory audits and reports results to IT Help Desk.
Documents backup statuses in backup logs and verifies accuracy of all backups.
Troubleshoots telephone system issues and makes appropriate repairs and informs Supervisor of issues promptly.
Performs Audio Visual Equipment setup and breakdown for events.
Installs hardware and peripheral components for PC's and Mac systems such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and disk drives.
Assist and monitor vendor's techs while remoted into network to troubleshoot their products.
Responds to client inquiries concerning systems operation and diagnoses system hardware, software, and operator problems.
Coordinates all activities with help desk, management and other department peers.
Expedites completion of security procedures involving terminated, transferred employees including name changes.
Reports major hardware problems to the IT Help Desk and IT Director in a timely manner.
Informs IT Director of all problems related to IT functions.
Other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS(objective educational or technical training required; skills; and years of experience):
Associate's degree (A.
A. )
or equivalent from two-year Collegeor technical school; or two or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
One year experience building and troubleshooting PC's.
Experience configuring and supporting Mac computers highly desirable.
Highly organized and motivated individual.
Superior customer service and motivation skills.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Working knowledge of MS Office products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).
General understanding of Network protocols and switching concepts.
Desired but not required; completion of training or equivalent combination of experience installing and troubleshooting Windows operating systems.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Must pass and remain in compliance with Coquille Gaming Commission background check and drug free work place policies.
