Physician Assistant
Duties**:
- Orders and interprets diagnostic and testing procedures to include laboratory and radiological examinations.
- Coordinates with facility and community resources to provide multi-disciplinary comprehensive care to all patients.
- Documents clinical encounters and patient instructions into the medical record via current electronic medical record system.
- Provides direct primary outpatient care to include gynecologic, prenatal, and pediatric care.
- Provides comprehensive outpatient medical care to a broad cross section of patients with both common and complex, acute and chronic diseases, to include deployment related medical conditions.

- You will be required to provide proof of U. S. Citizenship.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- One year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction 1315. 19.
- This position has specific initial background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a recurring basis.
- Position requires Basic Life Support training certification from, or in accordance with, the American Heart Association and American Red Cross.
- Position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter.

**Education**: Graduation from a physician assistant educational program, accredited by the Accreditation Review Committee on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or its predecessors, at a college, university, or educational institution that is accredited by an accrediting body or organization recognized by the U. S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
**Certification**:Successful completion of the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) examination; must maintain status as a certified physician assistant, including completion of all requirements for Continuing Medical Education (CME) and re-certification.
**Licensure**:Applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician Assistant from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
**Exemption**:You are exempt from the license requirements above if you are a current federal employee occupying a position in the 0603 occupational series and have been continuously employed in this occupational series since September 27, 2017 or before.

**In addition to meeting the basic requirements above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below**:
**Experience**: A minimum of one full year of work experience as a certified physician assistant which includes, in a primary care setting, obtaining medical history, performing examinations, and interpreting diagnostic testing.
This definition of experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service
- **GS-11**).
- Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

**Additional information**:
- Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
- U. S. citizens overseas under ordinarily resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement.
- If an employee brings a child to an overseas location and that child is entitled to attend a DoD school on a space-required basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation 1342. 13, the DoDEA and the Military Department responsible for providing related services will ensure that the child, if eligible for special education, receives a free appropriate public education, including related services pursuant to DoDI 1342. 12 and DoDM 1342. 12.
- If an employee brings an infant or toddler (up to 3 years of age) to an overseas location, and that infant or toddler is entitled to attend the DoDEA on a space-required basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation 1342. 13, then the Military Department responsible for EIS will provide the infant or toddler with the required EIS in accordance with the eligibility criteria consistent with DoDI 1342. 12 and DoDM 1342. 12.
