**Role Description

We are looking for a Plant Thermal-Hydraulics Discipline Leader to join the STH unit responsible for the analysis of the Newcleo Lead Fast Reactor (LFR) design for performance and safety assessments.

The focus of the technical issues addressed will be on the Thermal-Hydraulics of the reactor, the secondary system and the auxiliary fluid systems.

However, occasional interventions and advice on the R&D facilities are foreseen.

**Main Activities

- Contribute to the definition of the work program of the Unit, especially but not limited to the field of RELAP simulations, by interpreting the needs of the Project through the demands made by the other technical Units, be it design studies, sensitivities, exploratory analyses.

Effective implication in the definition of each activity (kick-off) and in the choice of the right calculation tool and analysis method to achieve the results in a timely-effective manner

- Participate to the discussions about the set-up of a thermal-hydraulic code V&V programme, especially but not limited to the thermal-hydraulic domain, that newcleo has to perform in the framework of the licensing processes.

- Identify (together with the Area managers) external suppliers and interface with them to assure delivery in time and quality.

- Advise other experts, managers, program directors and project leaders, for instance (but not limited to) code capabilities and limitations, activities priorities and dependencies, project risks, externalization opportunities, supply chain, licensing risks.

- Tutor young engineers to allow them to become efficient in short time.

- Participate to the efforts of knowledge sharing throughout newcleo.

Improve knowledge capitalization made in the Unit.

**Desired Qualifications

- MSc degree, or an equivalent level of experience in relevant domains (nuclear engineering, mechanical engineering, etc. ).

A PhD in a relevant discipline is an appreciated plus.

- Fluent Italian and English.

French is a plus.

- Fluent English in written and oral forms.

French and Italian are strong pluses.

- Experience with liquid metal reactors is a strong plus.

- Availability for occasional business trips.
