The Global Business Technology Leader is responsible for setting, implementing, and guiding the global technology strategy for a business unit. This includes managing the multi-year capital plans for the facilities as well as maintaining the seat of knowledge for best practices within all the technologies of a business in order to run safely and efficiently. In this case, the business unit is Engineered Materials across EMEA, NA & APAC.
Ideal location is Rho, Italy; however, we will consider locations in the US as well.
ResponsibilitiesStrategic Direction Process Technology: The global technology leader works with their team to define the future technology of the Engineered Materials business. This involves working with Global and Regional BMT's to evaluate technology alternatives that increase our competitive advantage. This also involves development of new technology alternatives due to other drivers such as regulatory changes, sustainability of current technology, improved EH&S performance, etc. Supporting Product Development: This includes new product development as well as changes to process technology that impacts our existing products (e. g. technology changes, raw material changes, etc. ) Working closely with the T&I organization, this role is responsible for ensuring products are correctly scaled up in our facilities and that information needed for innovation gate reviews are provided. Most Effective Technology / Minimum Requirements for Engineered Materials Assets: This role is responsible for maintaining the knowledge of the best way to produce our products. This includes the most effective technology to produce them as well as minimum requirements for our facilities to ensure efficient operation. This also includes leveraging those best practices across facilities within a given technology. Management and Implementation of Capital Plan: This role is responsible for the development and maintenance of the multi-year capital plan for the Engineered Materials Business. This team also administers a large part of the capital plan by managing projects. This role is responsible for assurance of capital projects according to the thrive-capex work process as well as review and approvals as defined. People Management and Development: Provide coaching and development to the improvement leaders and others within the technology organization. Work with leaders to implement talent management for Engineered Materials M&E. Identify and provide development opportunities for future production and technology leaders. Work with leaders to ensure organizational effectiveness including reorganization when required. QualificationsEngineering Degree (Chemical preferred)15-20 years of manufacturing and engineering experience within the technologies of the businessEHS and Process/Project engineering experience preferred. International experience preferred given global scope. Deep knowledge of the technology is needed in this role. If this is not present in the incumbent, it must be present in the organization.
