Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying maritime rules regulations and practices to the safe operation of the sea port; Developing solutions based on the analysis of program problems; Applying safety rules and regulations to the handling/storage of fuel and ammunition; Coordinating military construction projects to meet mission requirements. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands of the employee require the ability to conduct field port operations and involve long periods of standing, bending, and stooping to observe and study work operations in a port operations facility, as well as related survey, and reviews and an ability to respond to emergencies and other duties, which may involve climbing, walking in rough terrain. Work, while generally sedentary, does require extensive travel, extended work hours of duty and the ability to handle stress. WORK ENVIRONMENT Work is typically performed in an adequately lighted and climate-controlled office. Incumbent will occasionally be required to travel to visits to ports, piers, and shore facilities over a wide spectrum of weather conditions. Commute area is defined as the geographic area surrounding the duty location in which people can reasonably be expected to travel back and forth daily.
