The research focus of the Cattaneo group is to decipher mechanisms by which transcription factors, regulatory elements, and epigenetic enzymes orchestrate heart development, regeneration, and cardiac fibrosis. Positions are available on projects focusing on understanding epigenetic and RNA translational mechanisms controlling cardiomyocyte differentiation and maturation. The specific projects will include analyses of mouse models, induced pluripotent stem cells, and primary cell culture using a variety of molecular, biochemical, and functional techniques.

Histological and functional analysis for the characterization of cardiac phenotypes. FACs sorting and primary cell culture. Molecular biology experiments to generate RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, and ATAC-seq datasets. Support for grant applications, project reports, and paper preparation. Participation in international collaborative projects. General Requirements: PhD degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or similar subjects. Strong technical skills in molecular and cellular biology and a background in the field of cardiovascular research. Previous experience in mouse handling and FELASA accreditation is highly recommended. Previous experience in iPS cell culture is considered a plus.
