YOUR TEAMYou'd be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where biomedical, mechanical, and electrical engineers, neuroscientists, computational scientists, and robotics experts collaborate, each with their expertise, to carry out common research. The research focuses on the design of a full-custom and battery-powered hardware device that enables navigation for people in the context of smart cities.

The hardware will be interfaced with a software application on a mobile device and will include several dedicated sensors and input devices to permit the improvement of the autonomy of elderly visually impaired people while moving in the city. This includes the opportunity to develop ad-hoc solutions, with particular emphasis on the improvement of the state-of-the-art solutions, to build the stock of knowledge in electronic engineering with high Technology Readiness Level (TRL), strongly oriented towards technology transfer.
