**YOUR TEAM

You'd be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where computational scientists (Machine Learning, Computer Vision, image processing, big data and high performance computing), material engineers, chemists, physicists, and archaeologists collaborate, each with their own expertise, to carry out common research.

The Center for Cultural Heritage Technology (CCHT) in Venice is coordinated by Arianna Traviglia, who has extensive experience in mediating the inclusion of technology within the study and management of cultural heritage and in cultural landscape management.

CCHT has extensive collaborations with other Research Lines of IIT focused on AI and computer vision.

Research at CCHT focuses on promoting cutting-edge technologies and approaches for analysis and preservation of Cultural Heritage.

This includes ML/CV-based approaches to automatically transcribe ancient texts, discover and monitor archaeological sites on satellite imagery, digitize heritage objects using automated approaches, and design new molecules.

Within the team, your main responsibilities will be to consolidate CCHT expertise in the development of next generation unsupervised and semi-supervised machine learning approach applied to Cultural Heritage (CH) and Digital Humanities (DH) domains.

**ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

- Ph. D. in computer science or a related field with specialization in Machine Learning (ML)/Computer Vision and +1 years CV/ML experience outside PhD, OR demonstrated similar experience;

- Proficiency with Python and experience on Deep Learning algorithms and relevant platforms (PyTorch or TensorFlow);

- Proficiency in English language (written and oral)

- Ability to properly report, organize and publish research data

- Good command of spoken and written English

**ADDITIONAL SKILLS

- Experience in the development of deep neural networks such as recurrent neural networks (RNNs) and Long-short term memory (LSTM) networks, and for the analysis of sequential data (textual documents, audio and video streams).

- Experience in grant proposal preparation at National and/or European level;

- A strong publication record with a relevant scientific track record on ML and/or CV conferences/journals

- Good communication skills

- Strong problem-solving attitude

- Ability to work in a challenging and international environment

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary environment
