DescriptionWe are currently looking for a motivated post-doctoral researcher to work on an EU-funded project (SUNCOCHEM - Photoelectrocatalytic device for SUN-driven CO2 conversion into green CHEMicals - Grant Agreement n° 862192), that aims at reducing the dependence of the European Chemical Industry on carbon feedstock.

The goal of the project is to design a competitive and integrated solution enabling the carbon-neutral production of high-value chemicals from solar energy, H2O and CO2.

In particular, the post-doc activity will include in-situ TEM electrochemical characterization of catalysts and electrolytes, optimization of the in-situ procedures and experiments, in collaboration with the electron microscopy facility team, and support in the standard TEM characterization of the catalysts.

The electronmicroscopy facility includes a TECNAI F20ST TEM-STEM equipped with HAADF and EDX detectors, double tilt and tomographic single tilt holder, PROTOCHIPS in-situ liquid-electrochemistry TEM holder, PROTOCHIPS in-situ heating/biasing TEM holder, and a ZEISS Auriga dual beam microscope.

Professional requirements PhD in Material Science or Physics or equivalent degree Hands-on experience in Transmission Electron Microscopy A background in electrochemistry will be positively evaluated Further experimental skills will be highly valued (scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, FIB processing, TEM data analysis) The activity will be carried out at the Center for Sustainable Future Technologies (CSFT) - IIT, Via Livorno 60, 10144, Turin, Italy.

Salary will be commensurate to qualifications and experience and in line with international standards.
